The new Sontag Center for Collaborative Creativity at the Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California, is dedicated to re-imagining liberal arts education. We are building the creative capacity of students to address society’s most ambiguous, complex challenges while teaching these students to embrace the mindsets of human centered design and design thinking.

The Sontag Center was established to promote collaboration and creativity across multiple disciplines and five undergraduate campuses (the 5Cs: Pomona College, Scripps College, Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, and Pitzer College). The Sontag Center (“the Hive”) will help build the ecosystem of initiatives around engaged and experiential learning, creativity and innovation, and hands-on collaboration at the 5Cs. The Hive will be a place that fosters connections and provides a place for students to experiment and play.
