What does your hand sound like to a pencil… water bottle… steering wheel? How does a space express itself aurally? Does what you physically interact with have its own sensory experience?
Join us for a workshop where you will have the opportunity to make your own instruments using alternative mic’ing and sound recording techniques. In this participatory experience we will explore the boundaries of noise and music, harnessing the tactility of sound. Attendees will leave with tools for collecting sounds for media projects such as podcasts, music and sounds art. Specifically, participants will obtain skills in the use of microphones that pick up sounds of contact, underwater vibrations and electromagnetic fields.
